Privacy Policy

Siyan Stride is a walking-wellness app published by Siyan Clinical Corporation. We collect the data needed to show your walking progress, to let you walk with the people you choose, and to let you sign in across devices. We do not sell your data and there are no ads inside the app. Your health data is never used for advertising and is never shared with advertising or analytics companies. Siyan Stride is a wellness app — it is not a medical device and the readings shown are not medical advice.

Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, and an account ID from your sign-in provider (Apple, Google, or email).
- Health and activity: steps, walking distance, active energy, exercise minutes and walking workouts, and — only if you turn the feature on — heart rate and resting heart rate, read from Apple Health (HealthKit) on iPhone or Health Connect on Android with your permission. We compute daily totals, streaks, trends, plan and journey progress from this data.
- Check-ins: how you said you felt before and after a walk, and your daily check-in answers.
- Recorded walks: time, distance and steps of walks you record, an optional photo, and — only if you turn on route mapping — the GPS route of that walk (precise location, collected only while a walk is being recorded).
- Groups, Care Circle and chat: the groups you join and your step totals and goal progress shown to their members; if you use Care Circle, the people you invite can see your walks, check-ins and “I’m okay” messages; the messages, photos and voice messages you send in group or Care Circle chats.
- Challenge eligibility: when you start a challenge route such as Walk Kilimanjaro, your eligibility confirmation and the country indicated by your network connection and by your App Store or Google Play account, used only to apply the challenge’s Official Rules.
- Purchases: your subscription status and purchase history, through the App Store or Google Play and our billing provider RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
- Device information: a push-notification token for your device.
- Diagnostics: crash and performance reports through Sentry, linked to your account ID so we can fix problems. They never include your health readings.
- App usage: Google Firebase Analytics records app events such as signing up, opening a screen, starting a walk or subscribing, so we can see which features help people. These events do not include your health readings, your name or your location.
- Ad measurement (Android only): the Android app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK. When you install or open the app, and if you subscribe, the SDK tells Meta that this happened, together with a random identifier the SDK creates for this installation, so we can see whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to downloads. It never sends your health data, walks, routes, messages or account details, and the app does not collect your device’s advertising identifier. We do not use this data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. The iPhone app does not include the Meta SDK; on iPhone, Apple reports ad-driven installs to us only in aggregate (SKAdNetwork), without identifying you.
Links from our website and ads
The App Store and Google Play buttons on our website carry a campaign label (for example “facebook” or “stride_site”) so the stores can tell us how many downloads each page or ad brought in. The label identifies the campaign, not you. Our website also counts visits to our ad landing pages, whether the page was scrolled or kept open for 10 seconds, roughly how long it stayed open, and taps on the store buttons. For each one it records only the date and time, the page, which button, your device type (iPhone, Android or other), whether the page was opened inside the Facebook, Instagram or Messenger app, the campaign label of the link you arrived from, whether a tap was counted by the page or by our server as it sent you to the store, and whether our report of that tap to Meta (described below) went through. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address, your browser details or any identifier that could single you out.
When you arrive from one of our Facebook or Instagram ads and tap the App Store or Google Play button, our website reports that tap to Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) so Meta can measure and improve our ads. The report contains: that a store button was tapped and when, which store, the page and its web address, the campaign and ad labels from the link, your browser’s technical description (its user agent) and, when present, the ad click code Meta added to the link. We do not send Meta your IP address, name, email address, account details or any health data, and we do not keep the ad click code in our own records. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or you did not arrive from one of our Meta ads, nothing is sent to Meta.
How we use information
- To show your activity, streaks, goals, walking plan, journeys and recorded walks.
- To sync your data across your devices when you are signed in.
- To run the social features you choose: groups, Care Circle and chat.
- To send the notifications you have turned on, such as goal and streak reminders, new chat messages, cheers and Care Circle alerts.
- To provide subscriptions and restore your purchases.
- To keep the app safe, including reviewing content that members report.
- To fix problems, improve the app and measure whether our ads work.
Apple Health and Health Connect
Data read from Apple Health or Health Connect is used only to provide the app’s walking features to you and to the people you choose to share with. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with Meta, Firebase or any data broker. On iPhone, walks you record on Apple Watch are saved to Apple Health as walking workouts; the app never changes your other Health data. Health data is not stored in iCloud. You can revoke access at any time in your device settings; the app keeps working with the steps already synced. On Android, the app also reads Health Connect in the background so your groups and Care Circle stay up to date, and reads history older than 30 days to show your longer-term progress.
On Android, Siyan Stride’s use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your data. We share information only:
- With the people you choose: members of your groups see your step totals and goal progress; people in your Care Circle see your walks, check-ins and messages; chat messages go to the people in that chat.
- When you tap Share: a postcard, badge, certificate, report or export leaves the app only when you choose an app to share it with. Your first name and numbers are added only if you switch them on for that share.
- With the services we use to run the app, each receiving only what it needs: Supabase (accounts and cloud storage), Apple and Google (sign-in, push notifications, purchases), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Sentry (crash and performance reports), Google Firebase (app usage analytics), Meta Platforms (Android only: install, app-open and subscription events for ad measurement, under Meta’s own privacy policy) and Microsoft Azure (hosting of our website and public pages).
- When required by law, or to protect the safety of our members.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. When you request account deletion, your account and its cloud data are permanently deleted after a 14-day grace period (sign back in during those 14 days to cancel). We keep a minimal record that a deletion was carried out (the account ID, email address and dates) so we can show we honoured the request. Crash reports and analytics events are kept by those services only for a limited period and are not linked to new accounts. Shared images you already sent through another app stay with that app.
Your choices
- Sign out at any time from Profile → Sign out.
- Permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data from Profile → Request account deletion, or by emailing support@siyanclinical.com from the address on your account (see how to delete your account).
- Turn off route mapping, heart rate, notifications or Health access in the app’s settings or your device settings.
- Export your recorded walks as CSV from Progress → Export.
Children
Siyan Stride is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Challenge routes with rewards are limited to adults as their Official Rules describe.

We will update this page and the “Last updated” date if we make material changes. The latest version is always at stride.siyanclinical.com/privacy.html.
